In Ghana today, tens of thousands of children are without parents. The Agape Children's Home is doing something to solve the problem. They receive orphans into their homes and give them care, education, training, and the love of Jesus. Most were sick and malnourished. Many had not heard the Gospel and had never attended Church. But now all their needs are being met. At Agape Children's Home, all of the orphans are given their own bed, food, medical care, and quality education at a private school. The quality of care for the children is excellent. They are loved and cared for by Christian staff. Best of all, these children now have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and to receive the love of Jesus!    

Huneke Enterprises currently sponsors 11 children. Laurie's mother has had the opportunity to go over to the facility twice and visit the children personally; being blessed to see their smiling faces in person.     

You can sponsor a child for only $35 a month. By sponsoring a child you will help provide for all their needs, and you will have a chance to build a rewarding relationship with your child. It is a joy to receive annual updates and at least 2 personal letters a year from your child.

Through World Vision we were blessed to be able to choose the age, gender, and even location of the children we wanted to support. The children that we support through World Vision have the identical birthdays as our 2 biological children. It's been neat to 'see' them grow up with periodic letters and photos from the children or a family member. For only $35 a month, you too can sponsor a child in need of support. The money not only helps the children individually, but World Vision also helps to build up their communties.

The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. VOM was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned 14 years in Communist Romania; solely for his faith in Christ. His wife, Sabina, was imprisoned for three years. In the 1960s, Richard, Sabina, and their son, Mihai, were ransomed out of Romania and came to the United States. Through their travels, the Wurmbrands spread the message of the atrocities that Christians face in restricted nations, while establishing a network of offices dedicated to assisting the persecuted church. The Voice of the Martyrs continues in this mission around the world today.

Their ministry is based on Hebrews 13:3:

     Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them;and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves alos in the body.

It is an honor to support one of Laurie's cousins, Ashley, who is an in-country missionary. Ashley is currently located in New York City, where she is a part of a team that starts churches for people in recovery. The Lord has etched into her soul a deep calling to focus on people with debilitating addictions, which have destroyed their lives, and many times their families' lives.
